Dailymotion opens subsidiary in Japan
Dailymotion has announced a new subsidiary in Japan, Dailymotion Japan KK, and has moved into Tokyo with its first employees.
With over 11 million unique visitors per month, Japan is Dailymotion’s third largest market behind France and the US with a strong audience growth in the mobile segment in 2013.
With its new offices in Tokyo, the new team aims to develop partnerships with local content publishers and advertisers, as the market for online advertising is experiencing significant growth in Japan.
“Japan is a priority market for us with an already strong audience, especially via smartphones,” said Cédric Tournay, CEO of Dailymotion.
“It is the logical next step for Dailymotion to consolidate its presence with a dedicated subsidiary to Japan that will be able to develop new networks and address other local issues.”
